The characteristics of the weather in the centre of the country are well-defined seasons. The summer is very dry, the chance of rain is generally very minimal, this ensures ease of harvest of all the crops as well as creates a unique environment due to the low disease pressure. These factors lead to high quality and good yields. During the winter season, we receive good rainfalls which help assure good irrigation supply for all year round. The Andes mountain range to the east is a huge water reservoir from its melting snow received during the winter. In this region our growers are highly technical, not only for open field, but also for greenhouse seed production. Central Chile is known for it reliability and versatility, as you can produce hand pollinated hybrid capsicum, lettuce or bunching onion at the same time.
